Doho Lodge and Hot Springs

The Beautiful Country Eco-Lodge is situated at the fabulous northern edge of Awash National Park, 248 km east of Addis Ababa, 22 km north of Awash-Sebat town with the shortcut road, looking across the savannah towards Fantale Mountain.

The area is particularly well-known for its, Natural hot springs with private and communal pools, Waterfalls (Awash Falls), Bird watching, Boat rowing, Active Volcano with high mountain trekking. As well as the Wildlife housing, Mammals of over 80 species including Lion, Leopard, Waterbuck, Hippo, Oryx, Lesser kudu, Jackal, Hyena and Gazelle and birds of more than 480 species of many indigenous and rare species.

Surrounded by palm and Acacia forests and the vast Typha reeds adding to its natural beauty, the restaurants and rooms are built with comfort but local style.

Itinerary

Day one: Depart Addis to Doho Lodge

Doho Lodge

Awash

Departure will be early morning at 12:00AM (GMT+3) from Mexico Wabi Sheble Hotel, Addis Ababa and We will have breakfast at Welenchiti. After Breakfast driving to see the volcanic cracks and the Italian fort, on the way enjoying the nice view of the Awash River Waterfall (the second largest fall in Ethiopia after the Blue Nile Falls). Spotting some Nile crocodile species, Monkeys and Baboons.

Check-in to your rooms at Doho Lodge and after lunch, Enjoy the Hot springs with the stunning view of the sunset. Dinner at the Lodge (As per the set Menu for the Package or barbecue). Guests enjoy their time after the dinner around the Campfire and coffee ceremony.

Day two: Hiking to Mount Aseda (hill)

Hiking to Aseda hill and enjoying the nice view of the surrounding areas (the palm tree forest and the Marshy land covered with Typha Reed Grass. Enjoying the Sunrise from the top of the mountain. Viewing some wildlife (Animals (Warthogs) and Birds).

After the hike returning to the Lodge and enjoying the Buffet Breakfast. Spending some-time enjoying the Hot Springs and depart the lodge before lunch. Afar village visit with a professional local guide, pictures with locals and their houses. Driving to Metahara for Lunch. Drive back to Addis in the Afternoon. End of the Tour.
