The small museum in the compound houses a skull of former dwellers. After crocodile ranch, take a short drive to the 40 springs which is part of the Nechsar national park. Visit the pool which is consisted of 40 springs in which the town gets its name from.
Late afternoon, board local boat on Lake Chamo to spot crocodiles, hippos and aquatic birds. The most sought-after attraction of Chamo is the famous crocodile market, in which crocodiles gather on the sand for the sun. Watching these giants with their mouth wide open while brazen egrets pick a parasite from their mouth is a phenomenon.
After breakfast, drive 37kms to Chencha village to meet the Dorze tribes. One of the indigenous tribes of South Ethiopia, the Dorzes are famous for their beehive shaped houses. You will see false banana plant in which they make their staple food (Kocho)in every compound. The fiber of the false banana will be used to their houses.
